Mr. Paul Asher, age 85, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on March 16, 1930 in Hazard, Kentucky, the son of the late, John & Halla (Johnson) Asher. He was raised in Hazard, Kentucky where he was a graduate of the Hazard High School. Paul was employed with the City of Madison Street Department, retiring in 1993, after 15 years of service. He was a former construction worker for Roger's Construction Company in Madison, Indiana & enjoyed farming most of his life. Paul was a member of the Plum Creek Baptist Church in Vevay, Indiana. Paul will be remembered for his love of the Atlanta Braves Baseball Team & his grandchildren. Paul died at 7:55 am, Thursday, June 25, 2015, at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana.
Paul will be missed by his sons: Paul D. Asher & his wife: Peggy of Peru, IN, Harvey Asher of Madison, IN, John Asher & his wife: Carla of Lowell, IN & Phillip Asher of Lexington, IN; his daughter: Tracy Mikesell of Underwood, IN; his 4-grandchildren & 9-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: John & Halla (Johnson) Asher; his companion of 50 years: Thelma M. Peters, died October 3, 2010; his brothers: John, Scott & Woodrow Asher.
Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, July 2, 2015, at 1:00 pm, by Bro. Bob Leach, at the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
Interment will be held at the Vevay cemetery.
