Life Story for Jeanne Marie Konkle (Judy)

Jeanne Marie  Konkle (Judy)
Mrs. Jeanne Marie (Judy) Konkle, age 69, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on March 31, 1946 in Hebron, Kentucky, the loving daughter of the late, Ira Franklin and Donna Louise (Walton) Judy. She was raised in Hebron, Kentucky and Vevay, Indiana and was a 1964 graduate of the Vevay High School. Jeanne was united in marriage in Vevay, Indiana, to Butch Konkle. Jeanne and Butch shared several years of marriage together until her death. Jeanne owned and operated a children's clothing store on Main Street in Vevay, Indiana for several years. She was a former teller for First National Bank and Vevay Deposit Bank in Vevay, Indiana. She was a former floral designer for her sister, Luanne at Edelweiss Floral in Vevay, Indiana. She was employed for Farm Services of Switzerland County, retiring in 2007 after 18 years of service. Jeanne currently owned and operated with her husband the Route 56 Campground in Madison, Indiana. Jeanne served as President of the Swiss Wine Festival for several years. She was baptized at the New Liberty Baptist Church in East Enterprise, Indiana. She was a member of the Kappa Kappa Kappa Sorority in Vevay, Indiana. She enjoyed dining and socializing with her friends at the local restaurants where she was a member of the "RBC" in Homosassa, Florida. Jeanne resided in the Switzerland County community most of her life and wintered in Homosassa, Florida where she enjoyed boating. Jeanne never met a stranger and enjoyed socializing with her family and friends. She also enjoyed volleyball, softball, karate and dancing. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed entertaining and hosting family events. She took great pleasure in helping people in need especially during the holidays. She participated in the angel tree program and at the Jeff-Craig Elementary School where she helped keep supplies stocked for children in need. Jeanne will be dearly missed by her loving family, friends and her community. Jeanne passed away with her loving family by her side at 3:50 am, Tuesday, December 15, 2015, at her residence in Vevay, Indiana.

Jeanne will be dearly missed by her loving husband: Butch Konkle of Vevay, IN; her son: Derek Lane Allen & his wife: Cathy of Vevay, IN; her daughter: Jennifer Lynn Cutter & her husband: Mike of Aurora, IN; her grandchildren: Braydan Allen, Lane Cutter, Ava Cutter & Brittany Konkle; her great-grandchildren: Peyton & Hayley Konkle; her sister: Luanne Green & her husband: Lowell of East Enterprise, IN; her brothers: Errol Wayne Judy & his wife: Jill of Vevay, IN & David Judy & his wife: Janie of Moorefield, IN & her several nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Ira Franklin Judy, died July 20, 1981 & Donna Louise (Walton) Judy, died May 7, 2002.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 19, 2015, at 11:00 am, by Pastor Patrick Lanman, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.

Friends may call 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday, December 18, 2015, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.
