Life Story for Steven Duane "Steve" Coy

Steven Duane "Steve"  Coy
Mr. Steven Duane "Steve" Coy, age 65, of Shelbyville, Indiana, entered this life on November 25, 1951, in Shelbyville, Indiana, the loving son of the late, Duane and Betty Jean (Foster) Coy. He was raised in Shelbyville, Indiana where he was a 1971 graduate of the Shelbyville High School. Steven was united in marriage on April 1, 1972, in Shelbyville, Indiana, to Vickie Ann Allen and to this union arrived three children, Mindy, Travis and Ashley to bless their home. Steven and Vickie shared 45 years of marriage together until his death. He was a former employee for O'Neal Steel in Shelbyville, Indiana and a truck driver for Daymark Inc. in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was also a former employee for Ross Wrecker Service in Shelbyville, Indiana, for 14 years. Steve was a former jail officer for the Shelby County Sheriff's Department in Shelbyville, Indiana, for 10 years. He was a semi driver for Quickway Carriers in Shelbyville, Indiana, for the past 5 years. Steve was a reserve officer for the Shelbyville Police Department for several years. He was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Shelbyville, Indiana. Steve resided all of his life in the Shelbyville community. Steven enjoyed going on vacation, spending time with his grandchildren and his family, watching drag racing and attending dinner club where he was the chauffeur for the night! Steven will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends. Steve passed away at 11:19 am, Monday, April 3, 2017, at the Franciscan Health in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Steve will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 45 years: Vickie Ann (Allen) Coy of Shelbyville, IN; his children: Mindy Endsley and her husband: Chris of Shelbyville, IN, Travis Coy and his companion: Casey Scheele of Saint Paul, IN and Ashley Keller and her husband: Shawn of Shelbyville, IN; his grandchildren: Josh Wilson, Mackenzie Endsley, Coleman Endsley, Dylan Coy, Landon Coy, Ellie Keller, Hunter Keller and Addi Keller; his sister: Kathy Blevens of Shelbyville, IN; his sister-in-laws: Carolyn Scott of Shelbyville, IN and Joyce Stonebraker of Virginia Beach, VA and his several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Duane Coy, died April 22, 2011 and Betty Jean (Foster) Coy, died May 25, 2007; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Ivan D. Allen, died December 24, 2007 and Doris L. (Turner) Allen, died August 25, 1999; his sister-in-law: Tamera Lee (Allen) Moore, died February 6, 2016 and his brothers-in-law: David Allen, died May 13, 1994, Larry Scott, died November 17, 2010 and Richard "Jack" Stonebraker, died March 14, 2017.

Friends may call 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday, April 7, 2017, at the Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel 819 South Harrison Street Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 8, 2017, at 10:00 am, by Pastor Robb Barlow at the Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 South Harrison Street Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.

Interment will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery, 704 Morris Avenue, Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Cards are available at the funeral home.
