Mrs. Mary Alice (Trump) Smith, age 100, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on October 29, 1916, in Putnam County, Indiana, the daughter of the late, Pearl Arthur and Stella Louanna Alma (Eggers) Trump. She was raised in Danville, Indiana where she was a 1935 graduate of the Danville High School. Mary was united in marriage on October 23, 1937, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late, Elmer Ray Smith and to this union arrived two daughters, Sharon and Judi to bless their home. Mary and Elmer shared nearly 33 years of marriage together until his death. Mary owned and operated with her husband the Vevay Package Store & Restaurant on Ferry Street in Vevay, Indiana, from 1950 to 1970. She was a former Clerk for Danner's Hardware Store in Vevay, Indiana, retiring in 1990, after 20 years of service. Mary was a member of the Ruter Chapel United Methodist Church and was an associate member of the Kappa Kappa Kappa in Vevay, Indiana. Mary resided in the Vevay community since 1950. Mary enjoyed traveling, flowers, spending time with her grandchildren and at the Ridge Winery. Mary passed away at 6:15 am, Sunday, August 6, 2017, at the Gallatin County Nursing & Rehab in Warsaw, Kentucky.

Mary will be dearly missed by her daughters, Sharon Ray and her husband: Jim of Vevay, IN and Judi Hadley and her husband: Kent of Danville, IN; her grandchildren: Tye Ray, Traci Pavy and her husband: Greg, Troy Ray and his wife: Georganna, Sheri Woods and her husband: Kenny, Amy Jo Elliott and her husband:Timothy; her great-grandchildren, Kyle Ray, Trisha Archer, Tyler Allen and his fiancée: Heather Thomas, K.C. Woods and his wife: Brandi, Jessie Shell and her husband: Zack, Kody Woods, Jacob Elliott, Sydney Elliott, McKenna Elliott, Andrew Pavy, Travis Pavy, Nick Pavy, Brittany Goldsworthy and her husband: Ian and Cathy Deem and her husband: Christian; her great-great-grandchildren, Hudson Archer, Poppy Archer, Kynlee Woods, Lillie Deem, Matthew Deem and Payton Pavy; her sisters, Esther Williams of Vevay, IN and Juanita Paul of Plainfield, IN; her brother, Carl Trump of Lebanon, IN and her numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pearl Arthur and Stella Louanna Alma (Eggers) Trump; her husband, Elmer Ray Smith, died June 29, 1971; her sisters, Dorothy Hallowell, Thelma Park, Madge Greenlee and Pauline McAvoy; her brothers, Donald, Mearl and Ray Trump and her grandson-in-law: Derek Alan Archer.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at 1:00 pm, by Pastor Roger Parrott at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
