Mrs. Wilma Jean (Middleton) Brogan, age 86, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on January 30, 1931, in Harlan, Kentucky, the daughter of the late, Jess and Alline (Hansford) Middleton. Wilma was united in marriage on October 2, 1947, in Harlan County, Kentucky, to John H. Brogan and to this union arrived four sons, Billy, John, James and Jerry and three daughters, Patricia, Carolyn and Wilma Jean to bless their home. Wilma and John shared 54 years of marriage together until he passed away on December 11, 2001. She was a wonderful homemaker and helped her husband on the family farm on Tapp's Ridge in Vevay, Indiana. Wilma was a member of the Fredonia Baptist Church in Vevay, Indiana. She enjoyed quilting and gardening and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Wilma passed away at 8:30 am, Monday, September 18, 2017, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.

Wilma will be dearly missed by her sons, John David Brogan of Louisville, KY, James Brogan and his wife: Rita of Florence, IN and Jerry Brogan and his wife: Sallie of Vevay, IN; her daughters, Patricia Sheets and her husband: Donnie of Carmel, IN, Carolyn Cockerham and her husband: Kenny of Vevay, IN and Wilma Jean Dennis of Vevay, IN; her grandchildren, Johnny, Jody, Alicia, Zack, Andrea, Decina, Jason, Timmy, Jessica, Jennifer, Chris, Adam, Amanda and Anthony; her great-grandchildren, Skyler, Abigail, Deysia, Henry, Bridgett. Haley, Julia, Remi, Maggie, Branson, Ariel, Zaylin, Kaylee, Natalie, Devin, Carter, Tyler, Cameron, MaKayla, Cadence, Maevry, Larkin, Eleanor and Eliza; her great-great-grandchild, Skyler, Jr.; her brothers, Milford Middleton and his wife: Edith of Middletown, OH and Ed Middleton of Middletown, OH and her several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess Middleton, died October 6, 1975 and Alline (Hansford) Middleton, died March 15, 1992; her husband, John H. Brogan, died December 11, 2001: her son, Billy Ray Brogan; her sisters, Janice Farrington and Christine Herron.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 21, 2017, at 1:00 pm, by Rev. Wayne Daugherty, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
