Life Story for Ronald Harvey Augenstein

Ronald Harvey  Augenstein
Mr. Ronald Harvey Augenstein, age 74, of Bennington, Indiana, entered this life on January 22, 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the late, Edwin and Florence (Kistner) Augenstein-Shaw. He was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he was a 1961 graduate of the Roger Bacon High School. Ronald was inducted into the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. He was employed in construction for Bieschel in Cincinnati, Ohio for 22 years and for Zeizer in Cincinnati, Ohio, retiring after a few years of service due to his health. Ronald was a former member of the Lawrenceburg American Legion Post #239. He resided in the Greendale community until 2007 when he moved to the Switzerland County community, where he resided until his passing. Ronald enjoyed fishing and working. Ronald passed away with his loving family by his side at 7:51 pm, Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at his residence in Bennington, Indiana.

Ronald will be deeply missed by his wife of 21 years: Shirley Jean (Smith) Augenstein of Bennington, IN; his daughter, Lisa Peters and her husband: Ricky of Glencoe, KY; his son, Brad Augenstein and his wife: Michelle of New Castle, IN; his step-daughter, Shawn Redding and her husband: John of Cross Plains, IN; his step-son, Greg Slaughter and his wife: Amber of Aurora, IN; his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brothers, Rick Augenstein and his wife: Phyllis of Cincinnati, OH and Junie Augenstein of Cincinnati, OH; his half-brother, Ralph Shaw and his wife: Kathy of Cincinnati, OH; his half-sisters, Laverne Piller and her husband: Greg of Cincinnati, OH and Elaine Shaw of KY and his several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Edwin and Florence (Kistner) Augenstein-Shaw.

Full military rites will be conducted Saturday, December 30, 2017, at 2:00 pm, by the Honor Guard of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and the Vevay VFW Post #5396 at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Friends may call 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Saturday, December 30, 2017, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson's Foundation or Lewy Body Dementia Association. Cards are available at the funeral home.
