Life Story for Eula Rebecca "Becky" Brown

Eula Rebecca "Becky"  Brown
Mrs. Eula Rebecca "Becky" (Slack) Brown, age 75, of Antioch, Tennessee, entered this life on August 30, 1942, in Greensburg, Indiana, the loving daughter of the late, Harry M. and Gladys (Ferguson) Slack. She was raised in Delphi, Indiana and was a 1960 graduate of the Frankfort Pilgrim High School in Frankfort, Indiana and earned her bachelor's degree from Frankfort Pilgrim College and was the valedictorian of her class. Becky was united in marriage on October 7, 1961 to Pastor Cecil LaMar Brown, whom preceded her in death. This happy union was blessed with a son, Wesley and a daughter, Lisa. Becky and LaMar shared nearly 54 years of marriage together until he passed away on September 26, 2015. Becky was employed as a registrar for the Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, retiring in 2013, after 12 years of service. She was a former registrar for the Lawrence County Memorial Hospital in Lawrenceville, Illinois, for 18 years. She was a licensed deaconess and resided in Louisville, Kentucky for eight years, Elizabethtown, Kentucky for three years, Lawrenceville, Illinois for 18 years and for the past three years in Antioch, Tennessee. Becky was a member of the Milan Wesleyan Church in Milan, Indiana. Becky had a heart for people and enjoyed serving others and was a missionary for eight years in South America. Becky enjoyed playing the piano and will be deeply missed by her loving family. Becky passed away at 12:27 p.m., Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at her residence in Antioch, Tennessee.

Becky is survived by her son, Wesley Brown and his wife: Lynette of Antioch, TN; her daughter, Lisa Brown of Elizabethtown, KY; her grandson, Ashton Brown of Antioch, TN; her sisters, Naomi Coy of Milroy, IN, Janet Stonoff of Anderson, IN and Barbara Freels of Macon, GA; her brothers, Orville Slack of Anderson, IN and Herbert Slack of Russiaville, IN and her numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry M. and Gladys (Ferguson) Slack; her husband of nearly 54 years, Pastor Cecil LaMar Brown, died September 26, 2015; her brothers, Harry Slack, Jr., Chauncey Slack and infant brother; her sisters, Hildred Bovard, Ruby Burnett, Doris Andrews, Evelyn Hatton, Anna Banta, Osee Slack, Freda Alford and Myrtle Whitham and her step-brothers, Donald and Dale Burley.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, February 11, 2018, at 1:00 pm, by Pastor Larry Freels, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the New Liberty Cemetery, East Enterprise, Indiana.
