Mrs. Elaine L. (Son) Miles, age 96, of East Enterprise, Indiana, entered this life on October 13, 1921, in Sheridan, Wyoming, the loving daughter of the late, Oliver Thomas and Hazel Jenny (Hoaglan) Son. She was raised in Sheridan, Wyoming, where she graduated high school. Elaine was united in marriage to Dolar Hughan and to this union arrived two sons, Tom and Jim and two daughters, Sandra and Anita to bless their home. Elaine was later united in marriage to Atlee Miles and they shared several years together until he passed away. Elaine was a former cashier for a grocery store in Slidell, Louisiana. She resided the past 18 years in the Switzerland County community. Elaine will be remembered for her love of fishing and making stained glass with her daughter, Anita, whom preceded her in death. Elaine truly loved life to the fullest. She was the best nurse, friend and mom that any family could have asked for and will be deeply missed. Elaine passed away at 1:47 p.m., Monday, March 19, 2018, at her residence in East Enterprise, Indiana.

Elaine is survived by her sons, Tom Hughan of East Enterprise, Indiana and Jim Hughan and his wife: Gayle of Shell Knob, Missouri; her daughter, Sandra Marshall and her husband: Tom of Slidell, Louisiana; her son-in-law, Arthur Brown of East Enterprise, Indiana; her 7-grandchildren; her 11-great-grandchildren and her great-great-grandchild and her several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver Thomas and Hazel Jenny (Hoaglan) Son; her 1st husband, Dolar Hughan; her 2nd husband, Atlee Miles; her daughter, Anita Brown; her sisters, Naomi Platz, Thela Anderson, Ione "Mickey" Swords and Carol Jean Miller.
