Life Story for Robert Lee "Bobby" Jones

Mr. Robert Lee "Bobby" Jones (and known to some as Dino), age 68, of Elsmere, Kentucky, the son of Van and Anna Marie (Botts) Jones, was born on July 7, 1949, Covington, Kentucky. Bobby was one of nine children born to Van and Marie. Bobby accepted Jesus Christ as his savior at a young age and was baptized at First Baptist Church of Elsmere where he attended services until he moved to Louisville, Kentucky. Bobby attended Lloyd Memorial High School and played on the championship football team during that time. He was retired from L & N Railroad. He invested in real estate and became an expert renovator and remodeler of properties. Bobby was passionate about fitness and became a 2nd degree black belt in karate as well as karate instructor in Louisville, Kentucky for a number of years. He loved to fish and could play dominoes and pool for hours. Bobby was the life of any gathering and kept everyone laughing with his jokes, stories and wit. Bobby passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018, at his residence in Elsmere, Kentucky.

Bobby was a doting father and grandfather and leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Tara Chemell Belt; his granddaughter, Taryn Nicole Belt; his sisters, Margaret Travis, Vanetta Margison, Ora Byrd and her husband, James, Nannie Dee Roetting and Mary Ann Hoskins; his brother, Martin Jones and his wife, Paula; his companion, Deborah Jean Belt; his special friends, Nash Patel and Manny Vinanzaca and his special niece, Davin Belt as well as many special family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Van and Anna Marie (Botts) Jones; his brother, Ronald Jones; his infant brother; his niece, Desiree Phillips and his brother-in-law, William Margison.

Friends may call 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2018, at the First Baptist Church of Elsmere, 1007 Garvey Avenue Erlanger, Kentucky 41018.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 10:00 a.m., by Rev. Norman D. Blankenship at the First Baptist Church of Elsmere, 1007 Garvey Avenue Erlanger, Kentucky 41018.

Interment will follow in the Highland Cemetery, 2167 Dixie Highway, Ft Mitchell, Kentucky 41017.
