Life Story for Roy Edward "Eddie" Konkle

Mr. Roy Edward "Eddie" Konkle, age 76, of Lamb, Indiana, entered this life on April 25, 1942, in Spring Branch in Switzerland County, Indiana, the loving son of, Lewis Edward and Lucille (Knox) Konkle. He was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana and attended the Vevay High School. Eddie was united in marriage to the love of his life, Sandra "Jo" Stevens on August 31, 1962, at the New Liberty Baptist Church in East Enterprise, Indiana. This happy union was blessed with two sons, Steven and Alan Konkle. Eddie and Jo shared nearly 56 years of marriage together until he went to be with his Lord and Savior. Eddie was employed for Conn Organ in Madison, Indiana, US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Indiana, Seagram's Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana and worked for Warren Works Feed Mill in East Enterprise, Indiana. He also was employed as a truck driver for the Switzerland County Highway Department. Eddie farmed all of his life in Switzerland County and enjoyed buying and selling belgian horses and hauling cattle. He was a faithful member of the Switzerland Baptist Church in Vevay, Indiana, where he was an usher. Eddie will be deeply missed by his loving family, friends and his community. Eddie passed away at 9:33 a.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife of nearly 56 years, Sandra "Jo" (Stevens) Konkle of Lamb, IN; his sons, Steven Konkle and his wife: Janie of Vevay, IN and Alan Konkle and his wife: Angel of Vevay, IN; his grandchildren, Alisha Konkle, Kayla Cornett and her husband: Jake, Kyle Konkle and his friend, Alysa Parr, Kelsi Konkle and Tyler Konkle; his mother, Lucille (Knox) Konkle of Vevay, IN; his brother, William Lee "Bill" Konkle of Vevay, IN; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Nelson Ray "Nick" Stevens and his wife, Cynthia of Delhi, OH and Todd Eric Stevens and his wife, Darlene of East Enterprise, IN and his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Edward Konkle, died February 7, 2013; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dale Stevens, died September 21, 2015 and Elberta M. "Bertie" (Whitham) Stevens, died July 31, 2015 and his sister-in-law, Mary Lou (Dickason) Konkle, died July 1, 2011.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 17, 2018, at 1:00 pm, by Rev. C. Martin Justice at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
