Life Story for Beulah Ann "Bootie" Thornton (Chase)

Mrs. Beulah Ann "Bootie" (Chase) Thornton, age 75, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on October 22, 1942, the loving daughter of the late, Clarence and Mary Ellen (Reed) Chase. She was raised in Florence, Indiana and was a 1961 graduate of the Vevay High School. Bootie was united in marriage on February 8, 1964, in Vevay, Indiana, to the late, Ronald Curtis Thornton and to this union arrived a son, Gregory and a daughter, Lorri to bless their home. Bootie and Ronald shared over 48 years of marriage together until Ronald passed away on September 24, 2012. She was employed for the US Shoe Factory in Vevay, Indiana, for 20 years. Bootie was a former clerk for the Five and Dime Store for two years and for Vevay Shop Quik, retiring after 22 years of service. She was a former member of the Bennington Order of Eastern Star Chapter 407 and was a member of the Florence Church of Christ. Bootie resided all of her life in Vevay, Indiana. Bootie enjoyed going to the casino, fishing, camping and spending time with her grandchildren and her great-granddaughter. Bootie will be deeply missed by her loving family. Bootie passed away with her loving family by her side at 2:00 a.m., Monday, June 18, 2018, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.

Bootie is survived by her son, Gregory Dean Thornton and his wife: Chantelle of Vevay, IN; her son-in-law, Stan F. Sullivan of Five Points, IN; her granddaughter, Ashley Wykoff and her husband: Korey of Vevay, IN; her grandson, Adam Curtis Thornton and his wife: Shelby of Vevay, IN; her great-granddaughter, Paisley Thornton of Vevay, IN; her sisters, Betty Raisor of Moores Hill, IN and Elizabeth "Liz" Little of Florence, IN; her brother, Clarence "Buster" Chase, Jr. and his wife: Norma of Vevay, IN and her several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Mary Ellen (Reed) Chase; her husband, Ronald Curtis Thornton; her daughter, Lorri Lee Sullivan; her sisters, Leo "Ike" Chase, Viola "Sis" Gregory, Cora Wilson, Geraldine Peters and Ruth Romans and her brothers, Donald Lee and Paul Vernon Chase.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 21, 2018, at 1:00 pm, by Bro. Jeremiah Haynes at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.

Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.
