Life Story for Iva Mae Schuler (Keene)
Mrs. Iva Mae (Keene) Schuler, age 82, of Center Square, Indiana, entered this life on September 15, 1935, in Kirkville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late, Charles and Stella (McGuire) Keene. She was raised in Cleves, Ohio and was a 1954 graduate of the Taylor High School in North Bend, Ohio. She was a member of the Cleves First Baptist Church in Cleves, Ohio. Iva was united in marriage on April 5, 1958, in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, to the late, Ray O. Schuler and to this union arrived three sons to bless their home. Iva and Ray shared nearly 38 years of marriage together until Ray passed away on February 24, 1996. Iva was employed as a file clerk for Union Central Life Insurance Company. She resided since 1976 in the Center Square community. Iva was a wonderful homemaker and farm wife and enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and watching her soap operas, especially The Young and the Restless. Iva passed away at 8:33 p.m., Sunday, August 12, 2018, at the Swiss Villa Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Vevay, Indiana.
Iva is survived by her sons, Dan Schuler of Vevay, IN and David Schuler and his wife: Rachel of Vevay, IN; her granddaughter, Tasha Powers and her husband: Danny of East Enterprise, IN; her great-grandchildren, Aubree and Hunter Powers of East Enterprise, IN; her sister, Jewell Hancock of Cleves, OH; her brother, Douglas Keene of Cleves, OH and her several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Stella (McGuire) Keene; her husband, Ray O. Schuler, died February 24, 1996; her son, Kenneth L. Schuler, died August 9, 2007; her brothers, Fred and Michael Keene and her sister, Beatrice Kinney.
Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, August 16, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., by Pastor Patrick Lanman at the Miamitown Cemetery, 8047 Mill Street Miamitown, Ohio 45041.
