Mrs. Evelina Coker-Brown, age 76, of near Moorefield, Indiana, entered this life on January 8, 1941, in Madison, Indiana, the loving daughter of the late, Dale Franklin Coker and Grace Elizabeth (McFarland) Coker-Carpenter. She was raised in Switzerland County, Indiana, where she was a 1959 graduate of the Vevay High School. She received both her teaching and law degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Evelina was united in marriage on December 26, 1959, at the Switzerland Baptist Church in Vevay, Indiana, to Lawrence "Doc" Brown and to this union arrived a son, Andy to bless their home. Evelina and Doc shared nearly 58 years of marriage together until her death. Evelina taught high school in Marion County, Indiana for 22 years. She later practiced law for 25 years as a Deputy Prosecutor in Versailles, Indiana and private practice in Vevay, Indiana. She resided most of her life in the Switzerland County community. She was a rainbow girl, junior division of the Eastern Star and a former member of the Vevay Tri-Kappa. Evelina enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing cards, entertaining, talking and spending time with her family and friends. Evelina passed away at 6:00 am, Sunday, May 21, 2017, at the University of Cincinnati Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Evelina will be dearly missed by her loving husband of nearly 58 years: Lawrence "Doc" Brown of near Moorefield, IN; her son: Andy Brown of Indianapolis, IN; her sisters-in-laws: Phyllis Stafford and her husband: John of Vevay, IN and Linda Brown-Pettit of Shelbyville, IN and her brother-in-law: Harold Eugene Brown and his wife: Nancy of Milton, MA.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Dale Franklin Coker and Grace Elizabeth (McFarland) Coker-Carpenter and her sister: Joan Coker-Cross.
