Mr. Lloyd Michael "Mike" Young, age 59, of Vevay, Indiana, entered this life on November 14, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of William Fletcher Young & Mary Elizabeth (Welsh) Young Irby, both of whom preceded him in death. He was raised in Charleston, Illinois, where he attended school. Mike was inducted into the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War & was honorably discharged from service. Mike was formerly employed as a janitor in Madison, Indiana & Warsaw, Kentucky, before becoming disabled & had resided in Vevay, Indiana, since 1985. Mike will be remembered for his love of playing the guitar & was a fan of Elvis Presley. Mike died Sunday, May 8, 2011 at 8:34 am at the King's Daughter's Hospital in Madison, Indiana.
Mike will be lovingly remembered by his daughter: Laurie Baker of Charleston, Illinois; his sons: Ronald Keys & Donald Keys both of Paris, Illinois; his granddaughter: Caitlinn Hurt; his brothers: Charles Young & his wife: Denise of Vevay, Indiana; Tom Young & his wife: Debbie of Leavenworth, Indiana; Steve Irby of Charleston, Illinois; his sister: Sharon Young & her companion: Gary Springer of Vevay, Indiana; several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father: William Fletcher Young; his mother & step-father: Mary Elizabeth (Welsh) & Walter L. Irby; his brothers: James Young, William Young & Walter "Buddy" Irby, Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 13, 2011 at 1:00 pm, by Rev. Larry Welsh at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Cemetery, Charleston, Illinois.
