Life Story for Loretta Scott (Peelman)

Mrs. Loretta (Peelman) Scott, age 91, of Hanover, Indiana, entered this life on February 18, 1920, on Plum Creek in Vevay, Indiana, the daughter of James Louis & Ethel Elizabeth (Banes) Peelman, both of whom preceded her in death. She was raised in Vevay, Indiana, where she attended School & later attending Ivy Tech. She was united in marriage on December 16, 1939, in Warsaw, Kentucky, to William Denton Scott & to this union arrived a daughter to bless their home. Loretta was employed as a licensed practical nurse in California for several years. She was formerly employed at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana. She retired from the Switzerland County Health Department as a file clerk. Loretta was a member of the Vevay America Legion Post #185 Ladies Auxiliary, the Vevay VFW Post #5396 Ladies Auxiliary, the Switzerland County Historical Society & the Vevay Church of Christ. Loretta will be remembered for her love of writing poetry. Loretta died Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 10:30 am at the Hanover Health & Rehabilitation Center in Hanover, Indiana.

Loretta will be lovingly remembered by her daughter: Deanna Macrander & her husband: Ivan of Hanover, Indiana; her grandchildren: Mike Macrander & his wife: Connie of Lexington, Indiana; Gayle Macrander & his wife: Kay of Brooksburg, Indiana; her great-grandchildren: Carroll Wayne & Vanetta & 2-great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: James Louis & Ethel Elizabeth (Banes) Peelman; her husband: William Denton Scott; her brothers: Paul Peelman, Herbert Peelman, Onie Peelman & Raymond Peelman; her sisters: Hazel Peelman & Marie Jones.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, July 18, 2011 at 1:00 pm, by Rev. Ronald Sandidge at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street, Vevay, Indiana 47043. Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Indiana.

Friends may call noon until time of service on Monday, July 18, 2011, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral home 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana 47043.
